New Horizon: Press

I recieved the CD project from New Horizon entitled "Pictures From Yesterday". I put it in the player and immediately was taken back to my mountain upbringing in the small church I was saved in and still attend. The spirituality and heartfelt musicianship is instantly recognizable and refreshing. This project is a must for anyone who loves mountain church house gospel singing with a bluegrass flavor. I really enjoyed it, guys.keep up the good work!

Feb 25 2007 (Red Shipley) Stained Glass Bluegrass
One of the gratifing things Ihave witnessed over 25 years of hosting (Stained Glass Bluegrass) is the number of groups that use their love of the music and their talents to play and write songs that are more suited to sundays than saturday nights an outstanding example of this is (The Garden Gate) by West Virginas own New Horizon this collection features songs written by Joe Howard Joey Morgan and Dennis Zeboskey as well as Joe Howard who wrote and sings Hidden Man Of The Heart from their first CD Pictures From Yesterday these are perfect examples of bluegrass used to spread the gospel and would be perfect additions to any bluegrass gospel lovers collection. my thanks to Mark Merson for bringing New Horizon to my attention reviewer (Red Shipley)

excellent Bluegrass Gospel - many original songs
Reviewer: Cheryl Kinderman, WVMR-AM
Joe Howard's vibrant baritone and powerfully felt original compositions drive this dynamic group. The album delivers some of the best Bluegrass Gospel comimg out of the Allegheny Mountains these days. It's in regular rotation on our station, in both Gospel and bluegrass segments
Cheryl Kinderman - WVMR-AM Radio (Jun 22, 2006)
"The Garden Gate, the second commercial release from New Horizon, continues to expand on the musical horizon of this very fine gospel group from Greenbrier County, WV. With all 12 of the selections as original compositions, the project showcases the strong writing talents of each member who contributes. With a different line up on this second release, New Horizon continues to stride towards maturity with their music. As the traditional music director at WVMR, I place The Garden Gate at the top of my recommendation list for personal listening pleasure."
